Okhaldhunga, May 3/Six youths of Okhaldhunga have been left stranded in Jumla. Residents of Khijidemba rural municipality-4, the youths have not been able to return due to the lockdown imposed to stem the spread of Corona Virus.
They had reached Jumla to work on timber three months ago. Then can neither work nor return home due to fear of COVID-19, according to one of the youth, Sukbir Tamang. “Food and accommodation has become a problem, as the lockdown continues. We wish our local government rescues us,” Tamang said over telephone from Jumla.
Meanwhile, Khijidemba rural municipality Chair Bed Bahadur Rokka said it would be very difficult to rescue the stranded residents of the rural municipality. Though people in Kathmandu were rescued by the local government it is not possible to do so for those in Jumla.
The Khijidemba had rescued around 700 of its residents from the capital Kathmandu.
